This Software update is an installation. It only contains the Bidata exefile and the corresponding language file. Exit Bidata after download and run  the downloaded file. extract it to  the home dir of Bidata. It is a major update to the previous Bidata.

What is new:

  1. There is a new auto update facility build in (Thanks to Daniel Fiske) which allow you to search for updates to the beekeeping software online.
  2. The Directory you select for download will be saved for further calls.
  3. Some search templates have been changed to reflect actual registration of the software.
  4. After switching language I recommend that you exit Bidata and then rerun it to get the full language in play. I am still trying to get the on fly function to behave as I want.
  5. Those who support me will of course receive a full registration.
  6. The filter template and the filter structure are now saved on your demand.
  7. Loading of the accounting spreadsheet is now speeded up.
  8. For those who just want to run it free I have made a registration file reg_10_hives.exe that will let the software run registered but limited to ten hives!
  9. I have now added a simple visualizing of  the Hive and the Boxes can be tracked one level back, if moved from one hive to another. This can help e.g. in a disease situation, such as AFB
  10. The mating bee yard and the hive types was connected. This is now fixed.
  11. If you disable the automatic queen numbering the selection of race was still influencing the queen number if it contains a number, or added if not. This is now not linked if automatic is turned of.
  12. On the tab for boxes, it is no longer possible to enter a box number; All boxes must be selected from the pile.
  13. Personal data is now shown before the quick entry screen is shown, if personal data is missing.

To avoid errors in translation I have added the latest Translation manager + a language repair utility.

The palm Bidata connected to this is included in the archive and must be separately installed and new downloaded to the Palm.

I have been asked to handle supers in my software. As a result I have added a tab to the Hive note entry page. This Tab will work logistic as you would move around with the Box (Super). There is no manual writing entries on this, al manipulation is done with the mouse except from one spot where you enter amount of supers (boxes) to create in the database. To use this facility all you need is to put a number on your Boxes. 1 to .......

As you can see there is space for 7 boxes  for each hive, which should cover the most needs even with a big honey harvest.

You can swift boxes around as you might do in real life and add/remove queen excluders on places where they are placed in real life. The hive picture will adjust  its size as you manipulate the hive and give a visual picture of it.

You can remove boxes from the hive by either dragging to the image showing the pile or to the  image showing the out of sight possibilities. The queen excluder can be placed on the read spots and the picture shows two to illustrate that this is a two queen hive. Add new box button opens a dropdown list from which available boxes can be chosen and then dragged to one of the Box number  entries. Add boxes to pile button creates as many new entries in the pile database as you enter into the entry box, which is the only entry box to access on this tab.  The next screen is when you right click the mouse upon an added box.

Each box have a series of properties that you can change. The following screen show which.

The three named Hive number, Box number and Date are read only. A honey super is what you have placed for honey to be harvested. the Sized checkboxes are what you have placed . You can only select one of those but be aware that if you have placed a checkmark, you have to uncheck this before you check another. This is an issue I am aware of and still have to fix. If you have a box of other kind such as a divided box, then you can select this and give it a short description. The big entry is a  general comment to the box. Those properties will follow the box and be present if you remove it or place it on a hive.

A hidden property is meant for tracking the box from one hive to another, because this can be important to search those removed from a a specific hive.

I have not yet made a documentation for this new feature. But in short it goes so.

First you have to create the boxes in the pile. fill in the number of supers, feeding boxes, shallows and so on in the 'add boxes to pile' and press OK, It make take a little time to create the boxes but you can now try to click the 'Add new box' button and under the picture of the pile you will now find a combo box whit the number of boxes you have created.

to add boxes from this you select from this combo box, the box you want to add. Now you left click the mouse in the combo box and while still have the mouse clicked you move the mouse to one of the empathy edit fields and release the mouse. Select now an other super from the Pile and replicate this action until you have your hive build.

To get numbers in the count  of supers you have to edit the box property. this will show up right clicking the box you want to edit.

If you want to add a queen excluder then left click the picture of the queen excluder and pull it to one of the red points.

To remove a box you have three possibilities.

1. left click the super you want to remove and pull it to the picture of pile of supers.

2. left click the super and pull it to the scrap picture. (the scrap cane, money or packet picture)

3. uncheck the check mark by the super.

to remove a queen excluder just click the red point by the queen excluder in the hive.

to enter a divider in the hive just click the red point. Remove a divider by clicking the red point.

to cancel the build just press the cancel button But be aware of that the whole note will be cancelled.

By the way this page is still under construction. My aim for this new release was to fix errors in the database.
